Ministry of Digital Affairs - First Ideathon - Jury Prize

Participated in the "Ideathon" competition organized by the Digital Development Department and stood out with the theme "Smart Health Manager - Medical Policy for the Next Generation".

The "organ-on-a-chip" technology proposed in this project will help advance the development of animal replacement technology, promote animal welfare and human health, and make significant contributions to a sustainable society.

The team's technology, "Bionic Microphysiological System: Human Lung Chip and Air Pollution Health Application" won the "Future Technology Breakthrough Award" at the 2019 Future Tech Pavilion, making breakthroughs among more than 80 teams. In the same year, it also won the "Most Popular Technology Award" at the Future Tech Pavilion. It was the only team from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University to win two awards simultaneously.

The LUSH Prize Young Researcher Award-Asia, launched in 2012, is a global public call for applications that aims to reward research on animal alternatives. It is now an indicator prize in the field of international animal welfare. In 2018, the international review team selected applicants from 17 countries, including Asia, where only three young researchers were awarded. The team representative is the first and only researcher from Taiwan to receive this international honor. They were invited to Berlin, Germany to receive the award and gained local and international media coverage.
